Gluten Free Sage is a platform for healthy living through inspiration and artful experiences. It’s the collaboration between two artists, Jet Widick and Kristen Alden, who believe we need to be well and inspired to help us become the best, most beautiful versions of ourselves that we can be.

If you’re not well because of your diet, then it’s hard to feel good, stay positive, and be open to inspiration. When you nourish your body, you feed your soul. Being strong and healthy will open your world up to inspiration and desire, both which propel a person into the realm of possibility and transform the way we perceive our own capabilities.

Leo Tolstoy once wrote, “Art is indispensable for the life and progress toward well-being of individuals, and of humanity.” We couldn’t agree more.

Creating Things I Love

After a fulfilling and fun four years, I have made the decision to transition my writing to poetry. I have loved every second of Gluten Free Sage and am incredibly grateful, as this is what opened me to writing and creating things I love in the first place. As I wind down from writing about… Read More

Three’s A Charm

Three’s a charm continues to be a reoccurring theme in my work. Yesterday, May 15th was the official launch of White Wild Indigo, the third book in a series of three illustrated poetry books that I self-published in the past 3 years. I love each book with my whole heart and I’m attached to their… Read More

Tendership

Tendership is a word I made up myself. It describes a tender friendship that brings soulful wellness. I recently read a BBC article a friend shared on Facebook about words taken from other countries that have no direct English equivalent, but represent very precise emotions that are neglected in our language. It talks about “emotion… Read More

Highland City Club

I first met Erin Robinson at the Alchemists Breakfast at the 2017 DENT Conference. I instantly liked her down-to-earth style and, turns out, she has many of the same interests as me. We instantly clicked. After breakfast, I noticed her name tag said Colorado as we continued our conversation. I explained that Boulder was on… Read More

How the West Won My Heart

It began as a love affair with Spaghetti Westerns, then turned into a serious and lasting romance when I traveled to Vail, Colorado in 2015… sunshine, mountain air, wide open spaces and beautiful faces! I’d been dreaming of another trip out West for MONTHS. Photos of bison would make me tear up. Road trip songs… Read More

Sweet As Tupelo Honey & Good As Gold

Light gray with a touch of yellow… that’s the color that surrounds you after a hurricane visits, then leaves. Branches down, bits of grass stuck to your windshield and car doors; everything is weathered like two years have passed and it was just 24 hours. When the sun comes out again after a big storm,… Read More

Why Inspiration Matters

About a year ago, I wrote this post about inspiration and why inspiration matters. It began with happy memories of the pop culture years of the late ’60s and how they kept popping up throughout my days—as either a wistful thought or nostalgic feeling. This seemed too much of a coincidence. I wanted to investigate… Read More

Sacred Spaces

My favorite time of day is First Light—the time in early morning when light first appears and before the sun rises. When you’re all alone in the morning, you’re able to consciously embrace the calm and the quiet all around you. This silence allows you to focus on self-reflection and opens you up for inspiration.… Read More

Leisure Time & Sunshine Feelin’ Fine

Every time Kristen and I catch up we are like two little kids. “Let me tell you how much I love Summer,” is what we say… (squeal)! Summer is slow food and BBQ’s, dangling feet over docks and gazing into the night sky. It’s leisure time and sunshine feelin’ fine. I really enjoy the beauty… Read More
